Maruba Lines of Argentina commence Direct sailings to Malta

Maruba Lines are commencing weekly calls at Malta Freeport as from the 5th March thereby connecting Malta directly to South America ( Argentina and Brazil ). The service will cater also for Maltese exports to Senegal and South America .

Founded in 1962, Maruba is today 28th in the list of container carriers worldwide. Being of Argentinean origin, the line has a notable presence in Latin America and continues to expand its service to meet the varied needs of clients. Maruba is today established as one of the most versatile carriers in the Americas with a worldwide coverage, reliable schedules, large capacity vessels and a firm commitment to customer service.

The weekly service calling at Malta has a rotation covering Buenos Aires / Rio Grande / Sao Francisco / Santos / Valencia / Genova / Livorno / Malta / Dakar and back to Buenos Aires.

Cargoes from other South American countries such as Peru , Chile and Uruguay are also catered for with transshipment links.

The schedule is structured so that the service will call at Malta Freeport every Wednesday.

The first vessel calling Malta will be the mv Maruba Europa which has a length overall of 215 metres and a total capacity of 2700 container units.

Focal Maritime Services have been appointed as agents in Malta for Maruba Lines and they can now provide these services and connections to the local importers and exporters.
